The mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and low temperature toughness of the Superduplex stainless steel (PREN >= 40) is higher than that of ordinary duplex stainless steels. It features high resistance to pitting corrosion and chloride-rich environments. It is used mainly in offshore oil and gas extraction rigs, such as in pumps, valves, flanges and pipes. It complies with NORSOK M650 and M630 MDS D57 for gauges up to 254.00 mm.
