Quality Management

In order for its products, processes and services to comply with international standards and with customer requirements, Villares Metals operates a Quality Management System based on control, audits, non-compliance analysis, implementation of corrective and preventive actions and improvements. It is prepared to meet the needs of partners, government, society, the company itself, and, above all, to establish practical, economic and reliable conditions. There are cutting-edge tools comprised in this context, such as the 6 Sigma and 6S software, as well as certificates achieved over the years.

The Quality Management System includes:

Quality Assurance System Program, which ensures compliance through normative documents. It has been prepared to meet the requirements of the following sectors: nuclear, aerospace, petrochemical, shipbuilding, electrical and electronic.

Continuous Improvement Program, which provides for the use of the following tools: 6 Sigma (analysis and problem solving method based on the PDCA methodology); 6S (quality audits, training of operators; document management [Docman]; Quality Indicators (KPI), PIM (Integrated Improvement Program); Non-compliance cost reduction program; and, quality Venues.

History

Villares Metals' first quality system was formally established in 1970 to meet the needs of the Brazilian aerospace industry. Then, in 1984, the Total Quality System was implemented. By April 1992, the company was audited and recommended for ISO 9002 certification by Bureau Veritas Quality International Limited (BVQI). Later, in June 2000, it was certified according to QS 9000 and in October 2003, recommended to ISO/TS16949:2002 and ISO 9001:2000 certifications. Currently, all control tasks are carried out by the Product Engineering department.
