The power generation industry is thriving and the Brazilian government is even creating policies to stimulate less-popular sub-segments, such as wind energy. On the other hand, Villares Metals operates in this field and in others, such as motors and generators, small power plants and gas/steam turbines.
For that, it manufactures specific carbon steel, engineering steel and high-alloy steel parts. All with high mechanical strength obtained by heat treatment. These items are delivered forged, weighting up to 24 tons. They can also be treated and machined, nearly or completely finished, according to the client's request.
Among machinery and industry equipment using steel, we can highlight: shafts for turbines and generators, integrated rotors for wind turbines and rolled bars for studs of steam turbines.
SHP - Small hydropower plants
Villares Metals produces forged shafts for the manufacture of turbines and generators used in Small Hydroelectric Plants (SHP - up to 30 MW), weighting up to 24 tons, made of carbon steel and engineering steel, and can be pre-machined, nearly finished or fully finished (including through holes with burnished finish).
Wind energy
Villares Metals produces forged flanged shafts for the production of rotors used in wind turbines, weighting up to 18 tons, made of engineering steels, in the following conditions: pre-machined, nearly finished or finished, including drilling, anti-corrosive special coating and protective packaging. As for engines and generators, S1524MODFO, VT45FO, VL40FO and VM40FO.
Engines and generators
Villares Metals produces forged shafts for the manufacture of rotors used in rotating machinery and generators. It is able to manufacture forged shafts weighing up to 24 tons, made of carbon and engineering steels, as per pre-machined dimensions, close to finished or the finished product itself (including through and blind holes).
Gas turbines
Villares Metals is among the few companies in the world that are able to manufacture discs for gas turbine compressors consisting of engineering steels, specially produced in the melt shop, with extremely low levels (waste) of Al, Si, P, S and Mn, called "Clean Steels" and "Superclean Steels". Steels: N6948MFO: DIN 1.6948 MOD / 26NiCrMoV11-5 (Clean Steel).
Steam turbines
Villares Metals is able to produce forged shafts for the manufacture of rotors used in steam turbines. It is able to manufacture forged shafts weighing up to 20 tons, made of engineering steel, as per pre-machined dimensions, close to finished or the finished product itself. It manufactures rectangular or round stainless steel rolled bars used to manufacture blades, and engineering steels that can withstand high temperatures used to manufacture studs.
